Driving untuned with fuelling mods and COP?
I am getting the car mapped in two weeks and I was wondering if I can drive the car off boost with the following mods:
Aeromotive fuel rail
AMS fuel lab fpr kit
Buschur double pumps
Buschur COP
The car now has a tune for the stock injectors and single walbro pump.
I know I can wire the double pumps and just pull the fuse from the second pump. The FPR I was planning to set it at stock fuel pressure. Will the fuel rail and COP mess up my AFRs in closed loop? I dont think so but I just want to make sure it is ok.
thanks

u should be fine. u really dont have to pull the fuse unless u boost to ~6psi since thats when the second pump activates. but since its easy enough to pull the fuse i would do it anyway to be safe.
if u stay out of boost u shouldnt have a problem, if anything its just gonna be rich as all hell

do you have a wideband installed? That will tell you how rich it is really running.
When I finished my build...I went from stock everything with AEM to a built 2.0L, cossie head, cams, inj and walbro...it started right up on the old tune. It ran super rich. I didnt drive it at all. I dont like the idea of washing the cylinder walls.
If you do drive it. I would change the oil before the tune. That way if it is running rich and the oil gets diluted to a degree you will be safer with fresh oil. It is so hard to stay out of boost on daily driving though, even 1-5psi comes on so quick.
Just my thoughts.

yes i have a wideband i will keep an eye on it. The car has a tune for a single gss342 walbro pum. I will use the same pumps (bought seperately) with the BR double pumper kit so idle and cruise AFR should be the same. I was also told that the COP does not affect the tune so it should also be ok.
The only thing that might affect AFR is the FPR kit. I have a DEFI fuel pressure gauge with the sensor installed on a fuel rail adapter. I can install the stock injectors on the new fuel rail with the stock FPR to see my base fuel pressure at idle. Then I can install the AMS FPR using the same pressure setting.
