What AMP fuse for inline fuse of trunk mounted battery?
I have gotten my battery relocated and I want to know what size (amperage) inline fuse I should run. I know a starter takes a heck of a lot of amps while it is cranking. So what fuse can I use that would be beneficial if the wire ever ground out but I wouldn't be replacing it everytime I go to start my car?

I use 150amp breakers and in the front I have 150amp fuse. I dont recommend anything higher than 150amps for safety reasons. Put it like this the electrical system and altenators on cars nowadays are pushing anywhere between 60-120 amps. You dont want such a large amperage breaker in case of a short because it wont trip it. That 0-2 gauge power wire going to the rear of your car will get hot and burn real quick!
I have seen a power wire melt and start to burn a carpet before, noobs rigging straight power to a battery with no breaker or fuses.
Also another thing for safty and some racing sanctions you must have atleast 18" of ground too.

If so than wouldn't it seem like the obvious solution to always use a breaker and not have to waste money on replacing fuses?
Apologies, if it is a dumb rookie question.

Thanks, Craig!
300a?!? Damn, is there a paricular reason yours would require a 300a or is it just because the 150a kept tripping so you just stepped it right to 300a?
I hear most people talking about running 150a inline fuses, so I would have guessed a 150a breaker would be enough. I am running a 2.3L (9.0:1 with an SD tune on 93oct) - I would have guessed a 150a breaker, but now you have me wondering if I am right...
