Different Types of Manifolds

Hello, I'm starting this thread because I am looking at the different types of manifolds to buy to make a custom turbo kit, but can't decide which one. There's the cast manifold from Buschur, the ramhorn manifolds from RNR, etc, tubular manifolds from Full Race, etc, and other manifolds that I might not even know about. I'm looking for some insight on the spool characteristics and power making of the different kinds.

From what I know, the cast manifolds are good for quick spool up, and the tubular manifolds for great top end, but anything else?

Thanks!

You are not going to see much difference if any in the Equal Length Tubular manifolds. Shearer, ETS, Full Race, AFI, Peak Boost, JM (The Big Ones). Bolted to the same turbo obviously. Go with the company that treats you right

A cast or shorty mani will give you better spool for sure, to me if you want the best of both worlds go twin scroll. It will cost you a little more but it will be worth its weight in gold.

TS options can be had from ETS, Full Race, and AFI.

Gottcha, yea I've been looking at a full race manifold, so just debating between a couple. I'll probably go twin scroll, just waiting for a deal to come by on the classifieds.

I've been making TS manifolds for the EVO's for 4 or 5 years now. I have two different versions available as well.

Shearer makes some of the nicest manifolds i have seen. Never have heard of them cracking or breaking which is huge! I just wish he would release his 42R manifold..haha...

would a single scroll HTA35R be better than twin scroll HTA35R? Is it true with twin scroll you sacraficed a little flow up top? over a single scroll?

Only manifolds proven to gain power are the Full Race and the Ported Stock Manifold that's it

This is a huge debate between the turbo manufactures with no real answer. Of course people will say this and that but i dont believe there is a true answer. I can tell you that from what i hear Precision did not like T4 divided setups at all when they were released. Now they try and push them on most every turbo they can. And once again Precision does not like the new V-band setups "tial" says they wont work. But i guess time can change that. If Tial would ever releases there bigger housing sizes maybe we could compare some things.
