Did both of you install the cams yet? How are they sounding? Helping spool bigger turbos any better?

I installed mines the week I got them. I am running stock springs and retainers reving to 7500 with no problems so far except the phantom knock sums I am getting from not bleading the lifters correctly. They sound pretty mean at idle.

I don't know for few more months if I will/have a problem with the cams. Having problem with my head arriving.
I just wanted to know if the info on the card is necessary for installation or to degree the cams.

GOod to hear Remy since I will be running the stock Evo springs/retainers as well. BUT, do you think that perhaps the phantom knock is perhaps because of the aggressive cams?

On my 04 RS. E85, 30 psi, IX turbo. Making 395hp, 398tq. BR race core, intake, exhaust, 255 pump, PTE1000's. FP4R's, ARP's. Stock motor otherwise. Cams do idle pretty aggressively. But the car makes a little better top end power than about any other combo of cams on a IX turbo that I have seen on my Mustang dyno. Seen about every brand name set of cams on an 8 and now IX that are out there. Also broke two sets of Kelford IX cams now. Never seen an 8 cam break of any brand. Think alot of people make all their decisions on what others post up on the net. Yet you don't always know of that info is accurate and what kind of real testing they have done. Kelfords of FP cams are going to work fine. As for a large difference in power of the two. Can't really see it on a car thats making 450hp or less. Also both sets work fine on stock springs up to 7800rpms or a little more. Many cam companies scare customers into buying spring sets. Unless you have a built block and head, and are going to spin it over 8000 all the time. Most cases the stock springs are fine and will not valve float.

I've got the FP4R's on my car but it's stock turbo still. The car made 349HP on a Dyno Dynamics dyno. I was told that they believe this is the most they have seen from a pump gas stock turbo on that dyno. Most full bolt on cars with cams are arround 330HP. I don't have any experience with Kelfords but these things are tons better than my old BC 272's. For what it's worth I love them.

The FP4R's are made by Competition Cams for Forced Performance. So you know it's good quality.

The cores supplied to FP, and now Kelford, are motivicity cores. Certainly not "made" by Comp (almost all cam companies have "blank" suppliers that they then grind to their own specs including Comp) Comp just grinds FP's cams to their specs.

Based on specs, the GSC S2's, Kelford 272's and the Cosworth M2's are all in the same ballpark. However, no one here (that I know of) has put them on a cam doctor and gotten actual measurements off the cams.

So right now, most of this talk is conjecture.
