They are available. My friend ordered his set a few weeks ago, they had plenty in stock, and his shipped right away.

On a IX, the FP4R is pretty tough to beat. Faster than stock spool, nice fat midrange power, and from what I've seen they hold more power in the upper RPM's compared to the Kelford 272's. The drawbacks to the 4R's is their rough idle and low speed drivability issues; like everything else in life, tradeoffs are a biatch

I run FP4R's. Drive ability is fine, even with AEM EMS. Idle isn't bad at all. Not sure where that is coming from. It idles at 1100 just fine. Purrs like a kitten.

yep thats me i love them the car drives amazing and the cams sound great and made way more power for me than the cossie m3's and m2's the car dropped off up top with the m3's now the car pulls all the way to 7k

off topic , why do several people say then that kelfords 272 are the same as m2 ???

I wouldn't say it lopes. It idles very steadily When first starting up in the cold it might lope but when warmed up it's very tolerable. No complaints.

they are both 272's but the kelfords are more aggressive they are a different cam lobes

Bringin this back folks, need some guidance.

Ive got a IX, Im stuck between Kelford 272's and FP4R's, with S2's also in consideration.

An FP Red is going in in a few weeks. I want a cam thatll spool this thing up quick (before 4000 if possible), make nice midrange power and still deliver a nice amount of power up top.

I will be revving to about 8300 and running 30-34psi on the Red. I like choppy/lopey, noticeable idles. From what Ive seen, most Red's run in combo with the Kelfords but I'd really like to do the FP4R's if I can be sure I wont be disappointed if I choose them over the tried, tested and true Kelford 272s. Haven't seen any cars running a Red with 4R's.

Skip the Kelfords on the IX, they're really doggy down low, especially compared to the 4R's. I run the 4R's on my stock turbo and one of my friends runs the 4R's with a Red on his IX.

lol I just messaged you back mang.

The thing Im concerned about is that the 4R's are going to fall off hard up top, which obviously the Kelfords dont do.

identical lift/duration specs but I from what I understand the two behave a bit differently in the real world.

Did you bleed your lifters prior to installing the cams?

I would say that S2's are a great IX cam while kelford 272's are a great VIII cam.
