a low budget buschur build...basically a car that hits 10s, still has ac, and can still corner like a beast...since u will be documenting this, lets just put up cost of parts and labor to show that evo owners dont need to be ballers to go fast yet be comfortable to drive across the nation.
--lets say ur budget is 10,000 good o'l american dollars!
show us what can be done to the 4g63 once again!

How about a 2.3l/FPRed combo? IMO stock-frame turbos would be best for a never planning to run race gas car. Also, using a 2.3 would make a great daily with the added down low torque.
Also, and I know you're not a fan of this, but I'd like to see it done on a stock ECU.
I haven't seen anyone run this combo (and there's prolly good reason) and I'm interested in how it would turn out maxed on pump gas.

A DD set up for Auto X would be awesome. Also for us noobs out there, if you could explain how each mod affects the performance of the car (i.e. lose low end power, gain it back up top), why you chose that particular one, and which mods require supporting mods i.e., if you have xxx hp, you need to change this out.
Look forward to following/learning from your build,

Realistically I think you should make the car stay completely emissions legal. Show people that you can still go fast and follow the law. The car should keep all emissions components EGR, CAT, EVAP, etc. Also i think it should be done on a stock ECU.

I like the idea of a budget cap ($10,000) but here is an angle that you may not have considered. What about doing it with all (or mostly) used parts that you source on EvoM or Ebay? Most of us want to be big baller and by brand new stuff but the realistic answer for most of us is to by lightly used parts from someone that has changed their mind again on their build. This is almost exactly what I did! Obviously somethings should not be purchased used and the initial cost of the cores on your particular vehicle should not play into the total budget (we are assuming this is the average guys car right?). Most of us bought a running driving car so that wouldn't be fair to the end budget. Several of the items on my car were bought second hand, cams, turbo, TBE, 65mm throttle body (round two!), filter and MAF pipe, etc etc. Lets see what you can do with the stuff available from others and not from your parts bin. Then when you feel it has been maxed out, replace it with the stuff from your parts bin and lets see the gains, one part at a time. All on the stock ECU, ROM mods should be used liberally as a lot of do this or have our tuner do this for us. Just a thought.
Edit: and it should be a total package car, handling, power, stereo, and show.

Build a totally stock appearing car that can beat a Gallardo, 911 TT, GTR, RS8 or F 430 on a twisty track, on the stock ECU and pump gas. Suspension should be Robispec level.
That's what I love about the Evo--that it can be modded to perform like an exotic supercar and beat these cars for only $10-15K, and carry 5 people comfortably to the grocery store.
I'd like to see you actually arrange a test against some of these cars--Gallardo and GTR are my top picks.
