another boost leak question

im not sure whats involved in that but probably could do it... whats that mean though like what is wrong there t need to do that??

The OP tried it and he creeps to 20# from 15#. So, if he adds another 4-5 PSI of preload on top of the 15#, I think that he should peak at 19-20# on the wastegate and creep to 24-25#, which is his target boost level anyway. If however it were to hold at 19-20# and not creep, then he could just add the 5 PSI with the MBC.

EDIT: One thing at a time. First we'll try to solve the extreme taper swing down to 15 PSI. If it still looks to creep, that would be another, separate issue.

still a little lost here, does that mean my wastegate spring is bad and not holding the boost anymore or what?

I think that your wastegate is mechanically sound. The weather may be causing things to act up. Has it been colder lately? Have ambient air temps been fluctuating? Is it colder now than when your car was tuned?

EDIT: The IX turbos are notorious for tapering and the colder weather will tend to cause the turbo to creep.

well with the controller turned all the way down it hits 15 then creeps to 20
