wastegate wont open??

I just finished installing my fp green and my wastegate does not open. I shot up to 20 psi and climbing when I should have been at wastegate pressure of like 12 psi. Whats going on? I didnt hook up the boost lines so I could just run the psi off the wastegate spring. The wastegate came already installed on the fp green so I didnt mess with it.

If you didn't hook up any lines, then I think that's the problem. I believe you're supposed to at least hook a boost source to the wastegate for it to sense pressure, and open.

No vac line on actuator = unlimited boost.

If you loop a vac line from actuator to pressure source then it will do wastegate boost.

o ok I was under the impression that no vac line would make it run off the wastegate spring pressure.

I just connected my boost controller and turned it all the way down. I dont wanna test it out yet tho because Im dumb and forgot to put a gasket on the j pipe and now my turbo is leaking oil. But tomorrow when I fix that problem I am going to give it a try and hopefully hooking up my boost controller will fix the problem

What im wondering tho is oil supposed to be leaking from the j pipe? I thought only air goes out through there.

I thought that too...maybe check your oil feed and return lines. The return line gasket is notorious for oil leaks, I've heard a few people having leaks from oil seeping past the threads on the oil return bolts, so you need to make sure that's sealed and tight.

Is this a new Green, or a secondhand unit? Do you know whether it is equipped with the FP HD actuator, or the stock IX actuator? The FP heavyduty(HD) actuator is a 16-18 PSI minimum actuator, so if this is the actuator on your Green, it'll be tough getting that particular actuator down to 12#. In contrast, either the stock WGA, or a Forge unit can be adjusted down to 10-12 PSI.
