Please remember that the old setup was not the same HTA setup most guys run.

He had a very small hot side on the turbo. It was smaller than a .63 and was made for a DSM is what I was told.

Dave it still made a ton of power out of the old setup. The power on the first pull was just his base pump gas map. I really was more interested in comparing spool than power.

I would not call it very accurate, more just to measure spool time.

Not the best comparison to be posting then I think. A 35r with a funky hotside with a questionable baseline?

What gear are you in when you say 4900 rpm / 30 psi? I assume that it's 4th but just checking.

First of all, i would like to state that this comparison is not meant to be done to the furthest extent, its meant to get an idea of the difference in spool up. the buschur cast mani kit definitely kicked a$$! (i believe dan buschur went high 9s with the 35r cast kit a few years back) i just wanted more power without sacrificing response due to the fact that i live in a high elevation area (6500ft above sea level). the hta 35r has proven itself over and over and is an excellent turbo but its been made VERY clear that this set up has the smaller fp housing, which still made awesome power and offered quick spool. one thing to keep in mind is that the cast mani kit does spool faster than the tubular kits.

With recent reviews of twin scroll kits (ted b. etc) i decided that this would be the next best step for me, where i can get more power without sacrificing response. garret turbos are nice, but i wanted to try something different and thats where the borg warner unit comes in. Mitch is doing an excellent job with making sure everything is right and im sure we will see some good results on monday.

one thing thats been driving me crazy is what to do with the intake mani. the buschur ported unit has made some excellent power and undoubtably proven itself, but my question is would the cost of the magnus or other mani's be worth the performance gain on my set up?

Mitch I know you are a good guy and good tuner, no problems with you are anything you are doing.

There is so much single scroll vs twin scroll debate that I just don't like seeing a baseline that I know is capable of a LOT more being shown as coming up short. It gives the twin scroll supporters more to cheer for when it's just not a good representation.

I shouldn't have posted power. I really should have just posted the boost plots.

I 100% agree Dave it is not an accurate test as far as power is concerned. I just wanted to show spool more than anything.

I know what the car was capable of on the other setup and the HTA kicked major ***. 570 on a dynojet is nothing to sneeze at.

Hope that clears the air a bit. I did not intend for it to be misleading.

It isn't misleading. Anyone can see that it isn't apples to apples. Someone's already posted a 750whp Dynojet (*uncorrected*) chart running an HTA3582R, so there is nothing to debate.

It doesn't matter anyway. Dynos don't reflect accurate spool characteristics. Post a video or log boost vs. rpm in a 3rd gear street pull, and that tells the true story.

Kurt, why do you mostly offer twin scroll housings? Is it because they work?

Another data point is definitely worthwhile. I'd love to contribute more data from my end, but I am presently dogged by a leaky Hypertune TB shaft and an unexpected FP issue.

The devil is always in the details.

Mitch what borg turbos in t4 hotsides do you currently have? I might be willing to supply my t4 housing for testing pending I get a deal on a Borg when we realize thats the way to go

I will have to check. I think currently we have a .91, 1.0 and a 1.1.

EDIT- I misread that. I will have to check with Geoff but I think they have 85-73 and 91-79's there. He can get anything you need really.

Let me chat with Jeff I am sure we can get something worked out for you.
