i have the HKS 272 int+exh in my car.. the idle is very tolerable.. its more of a rhythmic blob blob blob.. the needle stays fine and my idle stays between 820-290 rpms with a/c off

You don't need cam gears to run HKS 272's. Yes, I have cam gears on, but they are setup like factory (no advance). All you need is a good way to tune the idle - EManage with anti-engine stall worked AWESOME.

I've done 272/264 and 272/272, you don't need cam gears for either one for daily driving characteristics.

hmm, i guess you can do that, but for best results you need cam gears, like Al said you have to advance timing for best results

Jun Camshaft installation

Hi.
I am C, I live in Greece, and I own a 2004 EVO 8.

I have recently purchased a Jun Camshaft Kit (264,272) all together with adjustable cam gears, retainers and springs.

The problem is that they send me the mounting instructions in Japanese and there is no way in hell I can translate these in Greece. Furthermore until today I have not received any answer on the emails I send directly to Jun.

So, if anyone has any idea on how to install these (I specificaly need the FULL lift for each cam) please let me know.

Thanks
C!

You are not alone.
I'v send about five mails to them trying to buy there GT-Ving but ended up buying it from a other dealer in Japan.

Is there anyway to get in contact with JUN directly? Someone at there office have to know english?

Btw, Maki please PM me your offer on the 272/272 stage 2 kit. I will most likely buy those cams this winter. I just have to pay my newly ordered Full Race GT35R kit
