if your clutch is resting close to the firewall floor, I would just lift it with my left foot and that should raise the engagement point of the clutch and prevent 2nd gear lockout(when cold I assume).

I actually have mine almost maxed out so not very many threads are showing which I'm sure is ok as long as I don't push the pedal allllllll the way to the firewall. As the clutch begins to age I think you'll find yourself adjusting it further and further. I have the XDSS so I'm not sure if that makes a diff. but id say it's a significant amount more towards the top then the stock placement that is if you haven't adjusted it from the clutch install.

my car was perfect until a few track runs and launches then I had 3rd to 4th lock out then weeks later 2nd to 3rd started to lock out then before i knew it, all the gears were locking out even during normal driving and especially at 8k rpm until i did the adjustment. It's def progressive.

When a single disc is overheated it can cause it to warp. A warped disc will require more clearance to allow a clean shift.
