Exhaust rattle/scraping

Just installed the HKS hi power and it seems to be rattling and scraping against the driveshaft.

The old exhaust seemed to be an Ebay like 2.5" or something, it started rattling after I had a clutch install but not too noticable.

Now with the 3" HKS it rattles a lot more and scrapes the driveshaft.

What can I do?

Added some pics below from the driveshaft scrapage.

my hks rubbed in the same place. During the rain, it got worst. When I had my hi-flo cat installed, xceptional had to angle the back part of the hi flo cat. If u look at the stock cat, it's angled so that mid pipe clears the drive shaft. Take it to a xceptional, they will take care of u.

Yeah not sure what kind of downpipe and cat are on there now all the previous owner could tell me is its a 3" downpipe and cat. That's a perk of buying a used car I guess lol.

Where is Xceptional located?

I tried calling Xceptional 4 times and left a message. I guess they don't have time to pick up their phone.

Common issue with that HKS exhaust. Sorry man, it's junk and doesnt fit well. Maybe it fits non MR cars better.

options.

1. Hammer resonator in where it rubs. bend pipe etc.. modify it to fit.
2. Cut out resonator and replace with straight pipe.
3. I've heard people recommend aftermarket hangers.
4. Get rid of it and get an exhaust that fits (what I did).

Most importantly advise people to not purchase this crappy exhaust. You could try contacting your vendor or HKS USA directly, however I found out they do not stand behind their crappy products (HKS USA).

Also it's not your DP, the product is sold as a catback exhaust system and it rubs with the factory DP / CAT as well.

beat the **** out of it with a hammer, use a rounded tip though or rubber hammer that will concave the area rather that putting a sharp edge into it.....and no it will not affect exhaust flow......unless its a 2.5 pipe on a 600hp setup.....that was a joke....seriously though just beat it up, thats what i do to all my cars that this is an issue for

or

buy some SUBARU extended exhaust hangers...they ALL run them, you can get them from turn in concepts, cusco, anywhere!

Won't the extended exhaust hangers just drop the exhaust down? I don't want to it to scrape the ground when I'm about to lower the car.

I actually was able to heat up the 3 metal hangers coming off the rear section and bend them some so that it pulled the exhaust somewhat closer to the passanger side.

It worked a little the constant scraping is gone now it only rattles/scrapes some when I'm around 2k rpms or so.

Well after calling around and getting some more shop referrals I went and got it fixed at Twisted Customs in Fredericksburg Va. They did an excellent job on getting rid of all my rattles/scraping/grinds. Thanks to Twisted Customs.
