your compression should be 175 across the board you may not have run it long enough if there all 120.
The ticking noise is a lifter that has failed. Mine does it at idle. Replace the lifters.
The overheating is the issue i would be worrying about. That's a head gasket if it really is getting hot under boost.

check injector clips.. make sure they are all on tight... if all the plugs look good check the coil packs.. figure out which cylinder is misfiring...a good way to find out is idle the car.. unplug each spark plug from the wire or coil one at a time.. if you get to one and the car sounds the same with that coil unplugged thats most liekly the cylinder with the misfire.. if you have good spark to that cylinder.. you must not be getting fuel since you said compression was pretty consistant from cylinder to cylinder. id start with simple things than go from there

Thanks for your input. I've been busy as hell with my work, I havent had the chance to look at the car too much, last thing I was able to check was the compression and the plugs. I'll give you a call tomorrow and we can go through some steps if you can help me out.

Thanks Andrew for your input also, I'll check it out and let you guys know.
...any idea why the car was overheating as soon as I hit any boost?

do a leak down test... that will tell you about the head gasket.. i think if your oil is like milky color.. coolant is leaking in.. which could explain why you are over heating.

I checked the car out today. Its an AEM problem. The AEM is not firing the #2 injector.
The box will be going back to AEM and then she will be good as new.
