Happened to me 3 times. All 3 times were built by TTR, I guess thats the outcome when you let TTR touch your car or at least the motor.

my problem was the fuel injector relay which is located on the firewall next to the abs module. it was holding water on top of it unitl the connectors completely rusted thru and broke off. i was getting different voltage readings especially at cylinder 3 which is the one that was misfiring.

BTW, i traced the wire back to the broken connector that corresponded with 3rd fuel injector

agreed. check ignition system. as for high temps, start with the obvious: hoses, thermostat, or radiator.

this just hit me today. supposedly the resistor pack went bad. ran fine then out of NOWHERE. got the surbaru sound. definitely something wrong if that happens.

this thread is very old dood lol.... but honestly to anyone that has any weird noises coming form there car specially the motor area i suggest you take the car to get checked out and dont do what i did.... wait to figure it out...eventually my crank just decides to crack... lol
