Car sounds like a subaru :'(

Hey guys,

I need some help...what a ****ty day...

So here's whats going on, I went to go get my dirty car washed at a local automated car touchless car wash at around 7:30pm, than took the 8 minute drive home and parked the car.

The car was parked for about 10 mins before my friend called me and hit me up to go to the diner, when I went to pick him up I noticed the coolant temp gauge was going up higher than it ever went before, I let off the gas and the coolant temp went back to where it was supposed to. Than down the road more I was almost getting into boost and the coolant temp gauge went up high again....so I was like wtf...

Went to drive it home and all of a sudden the engine starts sounding weird and the car starts vibrating and sounding like a WRX, it feels a ton of power is gone and it sounds like ****. I pulled over and popped the hood and it sounds like there's some ticking/knocking noises under the hood. I also checked if any water got into the intake when I got the car washed just in case...but I didn't see any water in there.

Do you guys have any idea what's going on? I can't call a shop right now or anything so I'm hoping you guys can help me out.

My most recent tune was at TurboTrix last Saturday...here's my mod list.

AMS GT35R
880cc Injectors
AMS Fuel Rail
Walbro 255lph
Kelford 272 Exhaust/Intake Cam
AMS/TMS T1 Headstuds
AMS Full Turbo Back Exhaust
AMS FMIC
Upper IC Piping w/ HKS BOV
AMS Small Battery
Exedy Twin Disk HD Clutch
Evo Throw out Bearing
Profec-B Spec 2 Boost Controller
AEM EMS Standalone

Let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks,

Possibly a bent valve(s)? I hope everything works out for you and you find the problem before anything else happens to the motor.

Same thing happened to me when i had a loose injector plug

Wiggled the injector clip back in and it was fixed

Spark and fuel are the first things to check with misfire

Definitely check your injectors. We've had a bad injector before and it sounded like a Subaru.

Hard to tell from the sound clip, try record a sound clip with slowly reving up the motor to 2500rpm.

if the temp was spiking up check the oil and coolant both make sure they are not contaminated, temp spikes usually mean blown head gasket

I had the same issue with mine. Had a faulty injector that was spraying the whole time, and it wouldn't let the plug fire b/c it was wet all the time.

I would park it and start it only to get it to a pro to diagnose the problem. No use killing a good 4G by tossing a rod out the side of the block.
