What size thread chaser should I buy to clean out the threads before installing the ARP headstuds. All advise is welcome. Both sides of the studs needs to be lubricated right?

is it correct to tighten them down in 3 steps with a old HG, and then after a hour loosen them and retighten them with a new HG?? Or just torque them up in 3 steps?

I've never reused an old head gasket, put a new OEM head gasket in there and torque it in three steps to the final torque value (80ft-lbs if using the ARP supplied lubricant). I torqued mine to 30 ft-lbs, then 60 ft-lbs, then 80 ft-lbs. Use the same torque pattern as the factory service manual. If you are doing the one by one method then only break torque on one bolt at a time and torque the new hardware to full torque value the first time. No steps when doing the one by one method.
