I think that's what he meant by upgraded 3rd, 4th and 5th gears

well that is actually good enough as the problem gear for us are the upper 3. and i don't mind keeping the 6th gear since no one gets to use that gear on most tracks. i guess the question is how much will these gears and a rebuild from shep cost. I just hope its reasonable.

That will depend on how many people are willing and able to pick up the gear set. The more people showing interest and money, the cheaper it'll be for Shep to provide us the product we need.

That is what is going to help with the gears getting chewed up, thicker teeth will prevent this. I am excited to hear about the new upgrade for the 6 as I too would like to keep it over the 5 speed swap. I love throwing through the gears and it would be nice to finally have drivetrain confidence again!

+1 for pricing on the shep 6 speed upgrade total cost.

Really? ...the base of the gears are twice as thick...with more surface area to boot. Though Its gonna depend on what power you are looking to push through it.

I'm Probably a little late on this, but I spoke with John@TRE and Trevor@Sheptrans, and both were very excited about the service they offer for the 6-speeds, but willingly admitted that these transmissions will not hold anywhere near the power the 5-speeds will.

I had planned on throwing the 6-speed on my car and trying to pump 700awhp through it, but after careful though, I decided it would be risky, not cost effective, and I'm sure Emery@STM wouldn't want to clean up the mess after if blew up on his dyno
.

So what kind of power will these upgraded 6 speeds be capable of?

BTW, a new thread should be made to get better exposure. I'm sure many will be excited to hear this.

I'll make one to continue on the discussion. Since this really has gone off of the TRE topic, here is a new thread https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ml#post8083681 on discussing all possible options of upgrading the 6 speed.
