Yeah, I've been in contact with Jon... he's quite busy, but trying to reply to emails as fast as he can.

Your wrong.. Jon is coming out with it.. I just got a reply 7 days ago. He mentioned his been running the custom gear set for a while.

He is so busy but i don't blame him.. my education would come first as well. Whenever your ready for the rebuild, just give him a call.. I would of already but am kinda away from the evo..lol

e-mail that I got:

"Juan,

We have been running a set of custom gears in my 6 speed for close to 2 years.

I have looked at them a couple times and they are fine but I have made changes to the gearing and I’m trying to bring the price down to something that won’t break the bank.

Thank you,

This new and improved 6 speed option has been talked about for quite a while. I'd love to see some hard data on it. My 6 is fine, but I am aware of the inevitable.

BG Synchroshift is not the proper oil for the EVO transmission. It doesn't have the film strength that is required to keep the gears from wearing out.

Have you guys ever seen side by side shots of the 5 speed and 6 speed internals? It's almost funny how puny and weak looking the 6 speeds internals are in comparison.

Amsoil is the best I've had, as far shifting feel, in my 6spd. I've tried synchroshift II, castrol syntorque, oem, redline (I think mt-90).

Which Amsoil?

synchroshift II, castrol syntorque are both no no's. The MT-90 is good to use but it's a lot thicker and makes shifting tough when cold.

I would be most keen for a 4.111 final drive for the 6 speed.
