Aftermarket Oil Cooler

So my stock oil-cooler is kinda shot & a new one is $700 ish. (either lines or cooler has a seeping leak)

Has anyone found an aftermarket one that bolts to the stock locations (w/stainless lines).

I'm not to worried about the cooler mounts itself, as i am the lines connecting to the stock locations (at the filter area)

AMS makes a very nice kit, otherwise you could buy a universal B&M and custom fit it yourself. I believe GReddy makes a decent one too, but its probably expensive

does anyone know what an fitting sizes you need to replace the lines in the stock feed and return location? also how big of a cooler would you get for road racing? seems most people with evo's go b&m. i've always liked the quality of the setrab coolers.

Setrab and B&M both make nice oil coolers. I think the AMS kit is the way to go, you dont need to mess around making brackets, getting correct fittings, lines, etc... saves time and its not a hassle.

STM makes a nice oil cooler kit. It uses a B&M Cooler and comes with lines and fittings

That STM kit is what I want to put together, but I have no reason to pay them for assembling the parts, I just need to know the thread in the motor

I am in the same boat and just bought a B&M core from a guy on here for cheap. (hope it wasn't a scam :P). I plan to reuse the stock lines and fittings. Shouldn't be too much trouble to make it work.

Stock attachment points are m18x1.5 and I guess there are two (bolts or caps to remove where you could attach a second set of lines (near oil filter or in the general area). These were supposedly confirmed as m16x1.5 on another thread. Don't have link but copied text from the thread for my own research and plans of adding a second cooler.

Quote from thread some guy was selling this and originally had the wrong AN adapters as well

"Ok, confirmed it is a m16 x 1.5 just like the 3kgt

Anyways, here is the low down for pricing

$375 shipped for the kit, this includes:

Setrab 625m22 core 7.5" x 13" 25 rows
2 x setrab an-8 adapters
2 x Earls 90 degree swivel seal adapters
2 x Earls -8 AN to M18 x 1.5 adapters
5 feet of -8An stainless line
Setrab mounting bracket"

As stated before Bat inc. carries this stuff and Mocal is probably the best out there. I wouldn't bother messing with the BM personally.

You are correct. The one I got had wrong fittings and previous person didn't know and messed up the threads pretty good. Oh well. More fab work for me.
