FP RED on a V RS

FP RED on a V RS
Hey everyone!
I'm thinking about fitting an FP RED or a TT S205 to my V RS.
Which is better FP RED or TT S205?
I would be hoping to get somewhere up to 500/500 which I think would be plenty in a V RS! Being a fair bit lighter than VIII's and IX's I think the car will shift.
Having read around this idea of fitting a RED I have 2 main concerns.
1) I've heard comments such as "just don't go over 2.0 bar as the these turbo's go pop".
2) I've also heard rumors that piston #3 has melted running this turbo maxed out.... some thing to do with the design of the stock manifold.
If this is a load of crap then I'll probably go for a FP Red.
If these rumours are true then I may need to go for the TT S205
So far I have a Kakimoto cat- back, APS BOV, Greddy boost gauge and that's about it
What mods would you recommend to achieve an ideal setup to support a RED that will deliver in terms of power and reliablity? I'm looking for the most direct cost efficient route.
Thanks
Karl

Are the Red turbos sold in Britain built by Forced Performance in the U.S., or assembled by Turbo Dynamics in England?
I read where the Greens sold in Britain were assembled by Turbo Dynamics, and that some of those units had been giving the problems.
Incidentally, does your V have the "short" RS 5-spd. gearbox?

Put it this way... Forced Performance's reputation is taking a beating over here as so many seem to be dieing.
Yes my RS has the short ratio gearbox
