Vibrant maf adapter and amsoil fiter?

After reading the results from the air filter shootoutI have decided to go with the amsoil 4560 filter and the vibrant maf adapter. However the filter is much longer and the stock intake rubber pipe seems too long. Anyone running the amsoil filter which intake pipe have you used?

I've used the vibrant adapter with a k&n, it was about perfect length, any longer would not have worked because the stock intake is so long. You should be ok though, may just need to tilt it upwards a bit.

i have the vibrant maf adapter and a this K&N and it fits. the filter sits right behind the reservoir right there.

http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=RU-4740

if the dimensions of the amsoil filter are the same it shouldn't be a problem.

using the stock intake pipe if the filter is any longer than 6" it will be tight (ie... not fit).

seems like I could just tilt it up but the path to the turbo wouldn't be very smooth. thanks for that suggestion but I was wondering more about a hard pipe that was shorter and smoother than stock.

Back from the dead.

I am getting rid of the K&N Typhoon that came with my car, and want to run the EAAU4560 Amsoil filter.

What intake pipe will clear my ACD equipped evo?

I saw the STM unit and it looked nice, not sure on fitment though...

Thanks!

I'm running this combo. The filter hits the ACD reservoir bracket. I bent over the bracket slightly, I didn't use the gasket that comes with the MAF adapter, and I slotted the rubber mounting ring on the filter to clear the bolts that attach the MAF adapter to the MAF. With these mods, there was minimal deflection of the stock intake tube. The filter sits slightly canted upward.

Its just an adapter plate that allows a cone filter to attach to the stock MAF.
