stupid freeze plug

stupid freeze plug

Anyone else have this issue and solve it??? My freeze plug on my 05 VIII blew out 2x's...It was misfiring before we fixed it which cause the prob. Water pump was replaced along with spark plugs. Anyone have issues with this before where you got on the throttle and it wouldn't go, next thing ya know bye bye freeze plug. Any insight is helpful I couldn't find nething on the forum

it's a well known recall issue.

any idea on what's the best way to fix it and make sure it doesn't keep happening? I had it get covered under warranty by the shop that just fixed it but def don't need this happening all the time

Did you try replacing it with a new OEM freeze plug (and not the old one that popped out)? This may have been caused by a severely blown headgasket as well.

I've had two block heaters blow seals.

Now I had Mitsu put a freeze plug back in.

Hmmm.....wonder whats up.


It's a recall? Where?

damn....same thing happen to mine...put some damn jb weld around the freze plug....

Happened to me on my waterpump. The dealership covered it under warranty. Then two weeks later my headgasket blew and they voided my warranty...
