my external wastegate on stock turbo!!

like it says i just finished making an external wg set up in stock turbo... i no i no theres really no fans for it but for the few who like the idea heres what i did and it works great!!!!!!!!!!! and sounds amaing and holds boost way better!!
oo yeah im 19 and did this all myself so it doesnt take a pro to do it just a few days and some time...
so here it is
this is the drive by outsideof car cam... i thought the vid cam out btter then it actually did i was at the top of the gear by the time i got to the camera and didnt relaize where he was haha... tis doesnt do justice to how good it sounds in person TRUST ME!!!!!

megan manifold reinforced with stringer welds so it doesn crack

just a pic of all the sutff outta the way

pic of the new mani on the motor

another random pic... think it looks mean with no front bumper haha

now is where its ges tricky... i made a Y pipe to connect the two chambers of the exhaust to one 38mm wastegate flange

then pull the trbo out and take off the o2 housing and you gotta weld a plate over the wastegate flappe... sry dont have a pic of mine with the plate on

picof the mani with the wg on the turbo

and finally a pic of it all together again

sorry dothave a pic of the dump tube...well thats about it... let me know what you think, or if you want any ore info on it!! and i will post a video tomorrow... sounds so amazing, IMO btter then o2 dump for sure!!

since you did both turbos from the manifold to the turbo i hove it is divided all the way too the wastgate or you will be killing the efficency of the stock twin scroll setup

Those manifolds crack easily enough as is. It may not be long before it cracks from the added weight and vibration of the wastegate hanging off of there.

This is a great point as its only dumping exhaust from 2 cylinders. I am willing to bet that it has lost power and torque, but gained sound. Its all about what you are looking to accomplish.

The turbo is effectively being powered by two cylinders through one hole of the twin scroll turbine housing when the wastegate opens.

What there saying is the the exhaust pulses are supposed to be kept seperate from each at all times. So to do a external wastegate set up on twin scroll you really should have two wastegates or the y-pipe you made needs to be divided right up until the seal on the wastegate to keep them seperate.

If you dont exhaust pulses go back down the other set of runners and causes turbulence and less exhaust escapes from the chamber so on the upcoming intake stroke it cant pull in as much air.

Hope I made sense kinda early waiting to leave for work.
