engine whine

I'm feeling abit paranoid. So I wanted to share my thoughts. From the first day i bought my evo, it always had a bit of whinning sound. After searching i've concluded that a little whine is normal and a bit of noise from the engine bay is normal. The car never gave me any problems. Over the course of a year I've slapped on an intake, tbe, engine damper, fuel pump, and a mail in flash. The whine has always lingered in the back of my mind, thinking maybe my tc is the cause of whine. What i dont understand is if the whining is caused by the tc, why is it that when im parked in neutral and i rev my engine the whining noise gets louder with the rpms. I've always kept up with all the maintenance and the car drives like a champ, but paranoia is a pain in the ***. Anyones input on this would be greatly appreciated.

Probably a tensioner pulley or pulley of some sort. If the noise goes away with the clutch in its your TOB, if not it could likely be a pulley. Take your accessory belt off and start your engine.
