Oil Cooler + Turbo

I just replaced my block due to spun bearings and I had my head cleaned and serviced. I was informed my the machinist that I should replace or have my oil cooler cleaned. Also is the turbo going to have any metal sedimate in it that is going to hurt my new motor? Has anyone else went through this? Is cleaning the oil cooler good enough or do I need a whole new one? Thanks in advance.

one of my friends went throu this hell, he ended up getting a new head 2.3 and never had to replace the oil cooler. but one never know either, me personally i would change it . try cleaning it to see how much sediments are actually there , oil filter too .

I would have the turbo checked out, and defiantly replace the oil cooler. The last thing you want is to do is push metal chunks through your new motor.
