Every time i shift quickly i hear a thump

hi, i have a problem with my evo. before anything i do have a bent left rear trailing arm, that i am going to change. but everytime i shift my car quickly thru gears i hear a loud thump coming from my rear. i dont know i took it to mitsubishi and he said i have internal differential problems and a bad transfercase...does anyone else have this problem?...its only when i shift quickly, when i take my time and shift there is no sound and the car drives fine. could this be due to the bent trailing arm? and maybe cuz the left wheel is pushed a little towards the front? (in my left rear well, i have 1 finger in the front of the tire and 2-3 behind the tire, tire shifted forward).. help!!!!!

my understanding is on really hard shifts, the rear diff can actually hit the underside of the car. I think that's what the buschur rear mustache bar is for.

Because you didn't put an 'f' in the word "shift"

Swear filter > you

but honestly not even on hard shifts, even when i'm drivin reg, 20-30 mph// and lets say i'm in third gear, and i want to downshift to second. if i do it quickly to second and step on the gas, i hear the noise.

that's prob not the diff then. I think priority 1 is get your shiz back in alignment! It's hard to diagnose a problem with another lingering problem. And honestly...that's a BIG problem you have there.

Can you pinpoint where the sound is coming from? Front/back/driver side/pssgr side?

the sound is coming from the rear, that's basically all i can get...im thinking cuz the left rear wheel has a rear axle connected to it and the wheel is pushed forward a little bit its making that noise...
