BOV-HKS sux, Forge sux, Greddy sux
Hey guys,
I just finished 2 hours of reading through various threads about BOV's. I have read good and bad reviews for all of these BOV's. To summerize:
Greddy - absolutely horrible
HKS - There are idle/bogging issues in both the recirculating kit and the non-recirculating kit
Forge - Design defect causing squelching
And to make matters more confusing Electronic idle stabalizers supposedly help VTA's but many people feel that they are inadequate. All the BOV GURU's please voice your opinions!!!
Bobby

I have never had an issue with any Greddy or HKS one.
the proper method is recriculation - I would not suggest trying it any other way in order to work properly and keep the ecu happy.

Well I agree with HwangTKD; the stock DV on my Evo was working well with only a small amout of leak, but I read the article on installing the Forge DV valve ordered one and have nothing but headaches ever since. I ordered the tuning kit, no joy. I ordered a new piston and the blow off noise sounds like chipmunks mating. I was considering the Greddy type s, but I think I'll put the stock one back and leave it alone. Even with the Forge on the improvement over stock was minimal. I think money is better spent on something useful, like a MBC from GFB.

I installed a 1G BOV and it works awesome. The great thing about the 1G is it is a genuine mitsu part so unless the dealer techs really know their stuff, they won't give it a second look. It doesn't leak and can hold tremendous amounts of boost. Best of all, it is dirt cheap.

I have the GFB steath BOV installed in both my fathers and my Evo. They both work great in both cars. You can adjust the spring tension with just a turn of the top of the BOV, and you can adjust to have as much air as you want to vent or recurculate. I am very pleased with the BOV's performance.
