124k EVO IX MR maintenance

Okay, the car's going in the shop monday for a new clutch and flywheel. while it's down i'm trying to think of anything i should replace/check while it's down for preventative maintenance.

the plugs and wires were just changed at 120k miles, along with the oil/filter.

so far it's scheduled for these things to be done:

ACT HDSS clutch
ACT streetlite flywheel
Replace TC/Tranny seals
Pull/Clean throttle body/replace seals
Replace PCV valve
Replace PCV valve hose
Replace Timing belt
Replace Balance shaft belt
Replace water pump
Replace TC/Tranny/ACD/Rear Diff fluids
Replace Oil Pump (possibly...do you think it needs it?)
Have compression test done (possibly...do you think it needs it?)

that's what i got so far. can anyone think of anything i may have missed?

i thought about that, they don't seem to be gummed up yet. i do plan to have them checked though, along with the fuel filter.

I know some people replace the timing belt tensioner and idler pullies just for safe measure. Might as well change the accessory belt. I would say head gasket, but it doesn't sound like you'll be that far into it.

For the oil pump, you might as well. You're already in there and it could save you money in the long run. I wouldn't know how much to trust a 124k mi oil pump though.

I love your car. A living testament that these cars can go for a very long time if properly maintained.

+1, I always change them when I'm doing the timing belt. Cheap insurance.

Glad to see you're still running strong with all those mods too. I'm scared to hit 40k because I feel like that's a lot lol.

well a large chunk of the miles came from me driving 170 miles ONE WAY to work for 9 months until i could move closer to work. Long story, glad it's over. Even before that though, i already had 60k miles on it. after that was all said and done, i was at around 100k i think?

i've been to florida in the car once, dallas a few times, houston a bunch of times, beaumont, lafayette, baton rouge (where i live now)... i take a lot of road trips, and i just drive for fun. When i get off work sometimes, like today, i'll go home, take a shower, get dressed, and me and the Mrs will just go out driving, or if she's at work i just go on my own. doesn't matter what time of day or night, i just love driving. won't be long before i hit the 150k mark lol

oh, as for the maintenance, i had everything listed above done except the oil pump and compression check. i plan to have a boost leak test and compression check done soon, and replace the coils. also replacing my LICP because i found out it's bent. other than that, the car is running like a champ. got about 100 miles or so more to finish breaking in the clutch, then it's on like donkey kong once again

Only thing I think you should do thats not on your list is:

Replace coolant
Replace In-Cabin Filter (behind glove box)

When was the last time you replaced the coolant hoses? The service manual calls for this at 60K.

Good point! I did not replace mine at 60k because they were in great shape. However, I'd say at 120k would be a good time to do it.
