When do you hit peak boost with the HTA with 2.0?

The good thing about going with a Turbo Kit sooner then later is he won't be throwing his money away on a ported exhaust manifold, upgraded o2 housing, upgraded downpipe, new lower pipe, etc. The only thing that will need to be changed is a switch of a turbo. Most people can't get into a red for under 2200-2400 unless you run your stock o2 housing, downpipe, lower pipe, etc.

Thanks!

Michael

This is very true, I was just pointing out that a RED would have better mid range and torque with the same power is all. Nothing wrong with a turbo kit at all, but I'd say at least a 35R just to get the big power needs later or still great pump gas power now. As far as lag the RED retaining the twinscroll stock design owns any open scroll design and has proven to be an 9 Second turbo already.

I am also extremely partial to stock like setups as it retains the performance image of the Evo properly. You always want that insa-boost feeling with the Evo to get that completely balanced performance. A 30R loses that, a 35R more so but atleast the 35R will make EXTREME WHP where as the RED is entirely comparable to a 30R. I am not bashing the ETS Turbo kit, more so the choice of a turbo where I feel the Red is much more suited especially for street use.

I do, you realize you retain twinscroll setup and get a larger powerband then the open scroll GT3076R? Power band is the name of the game here.

I'm wondering how the HTA3076 would respond to E85 on 30PSI. The FP Red has proven roughly 490-515whp.

Peak would probably be the same with a slight edge to the 30R with less restriction in the long runners and single scroll. The Red however would have a massive torque and spoolup advantage.

Dynojet or not, what do you estimate your previous set up on pump and 30PSI?

I already have
Megan Midpipe/Catback (Megan downpipe & tubular manifold on stock turbo but all those are coming off)
ETS Intake, 3.5" FMIC, LICP & UICP w/ minibattery
255 Walbro Fuel Pump

I scored 324/313 @ AMS's dyno with these mods. Going to have everything tuned by AMS again after I finish putting this stuff on the car.

Any ideas?

With that said you should be able to get a high trap, at least 118MPH or so and hold boost till 8000RPMS no problems.

Id' say if you want a 3076R, get a red, then next step after a RED is a GT35R HTA, that's it, everything else is inferior.

STOCK IX TURBO
RED
35R

wouldent 118 be kinda slow for a almost 500hp evo and ive never driven in a evo with the red but i have driven in a evo with a 3076 and the mid range is there after awhile you will get use to it and not even notice the little bit of lag it comes with.

Don't forget he's got an MR which will need a shift into 5th, hurts traps and ET's. My point being the Stock IX turbo is so good already, the Red is just the way to go IMHO over any 30R for the massive mid range and topend it has. If you wana get a turbo get, get a 35R minimum, go big with that stuff.

118 People are close to getting Stock Turbo Pump gas, a 3076R pump gas should get you over 120 no problem.
