I am getting a ticking also, but it is when i give like 50% throttle and it ticks up to about 3krpms and then ticks when i let off the gas pedal. It also ticks when I start the car. I think that is the lifters. I'm having Mitsu. check it out Friday.

This sounds dumb, but i have to mention it. it could also be the injectors because they are noisy and tick very loud.

What did Mitsu tell u about the belts and the lifters more specifically..i don't understand what ur saying.
Mitsu told me that it is the drive belts. When the car is cold, the belt are stiff and it cause the ticking. But when the car warms up, the belt don't tick no more. Mitsu told me that. It don't make any sense to me too. I was thinking it was the lifters!

Mitsu say that the whole job would cost me 2100 for parts and labor. Where did you buy your clutch at? I have this guy to install it for me for 350. I found him on this forum. They said that this guy is good and it will take 8 hour to do it.

*44* miles or 44,000 miles? If its 44,000 then your stock clutch is toast. And you shouldn't be getting on the gas too much when the car is cold, let it warm up first

its hard to say man, many variables and not enough information one has to almost be there to understand better what you are experiencing.

what mods do you have,
i run stock turbo and mine starts spooling around 3200 because of my set up helps with spool

as far as the ticking i have the same problem. i think it is the belt because i noticed a couple weeks ago my belts started a little chirping for a couple days, then the chirping stopped but now it "ticks" and when i turn the car off i can hear the belt screech when it stops. any other input on this guys i hope its not the lifters lol i dont know how much that would cost to do is it expensive? sorry to jump in on your post im just a little concerned too lol btw its an 03 with 50k miles
