Powertrain Technology Twin Disc Clutch Kit or QuarterMaster Twin Disc

The guy who owns PTT used to work for QM. Who took the QM designs and improved on them a tad. But for all practical purposes the clutches are the same design. The clutch was designed for off road rally use. It has very harsh engagement. It is simple, durable, and shifts very quick. It is noisy and very hard on drive train parts. Me personally hate this clutch and feel its a bad choice for a daily driven car. But there are plenty who can live with its drawbacks and say its a good choice.

So was I, but after a while I forgot about it. It just takes lots of passes to figure out what the car wants. Good luck, Indy

7000 RPM, with the WHP you guys are making it would be far less. I'm dropping the hammer pretty quick now. I had to be carefull this year since it's my only car, but as it came down to the end of the season I got more aggressive with it to try to get into the 11.50's. Missed it by .07
.

Typical noise level of a twin disc.
Typical harshness of a ceramic disc.
Soft pedal.
Very lightweight and it has caused a lot of problems with stalling on the stock ECU. Indy, how are you guys dealing with this issue?
As far as daily driving with respect to noise, I would say the AMS moustache eliminator is 1000x more annoying. I barely even notice the clutch noise where the eliminator is damn near deafening.
For grabbyness, it is something I have learned to drive around in a day or so.

I don't believe there will be much benefit in the redesigned QM twin. It is a great clutch in its current form. From what I gather, they are just looking for more contact patch on the input shaft to disc hub by having the 2nd disc ride on another part of the first disc's hub instead of having two identical discs with small independent contact patches on the input shaft.
