msd dis-2 2 channel ignition on evo ix?
hello guys,
i have recieved a FREE:beer: brand new msd dis-2 programable ignition box from a friend of mine, i saw there going for around $600 so i took it. we think it will work on my 06 evo ix mivec but we are not 100 percent sure since some people say it will and some say it will not.
here it is: mine is the PN# 6211

what do you guys think about me trying to run this box? waste of time? great idea? i just kinda need filled in on if it will work. and some pros and cons.... anyone using this?
i have a stock ignition (2 coils) and oem ecu. Will the dis-2 work? and if so how do i wire it? just cut the wires going to the coil and run the msd inline inbetween the ecu and the coils? i have three wires going to each coil. do i cut those wires and hook the two sets of three wires on the engine harness to the input wires of the msd box and hook the two sets of three output wires on the msd box to the coils? am i right? sounds simple. i just want to make sure before i do all this work. i dont want any pinging or misfires or detonation or aything of that nature.
do you think this box with some aftermarket coils and wires would hold up to 700-800 hp.?
also i want to switch to an ems of some sort. wichever one is most user friendly and most dynamic for pinpoint tuning (mostlikely aem) since the aem is "plug and play" will is be able to retain the msd if it does indeed work on my car and work well?
