so extrapolating, where these lines connect on the housing should be #4 outlet and #6 inlet.
sort of disappointed with the Mitsu SM on this one, should have a better oil flow map.
the oil filter always flows into the perimeter holes that have the rubber valve behind them and out the center hole.

I win.
This lady - in bed.
This guy - installed. The two allen plugs access the same ports, they are the entry points for machining the tunnels inside the filter housing. So either one gets you the same place. I rule. The other one is to the right BTW. Going out to route the hose now, but had to take a picture for Nils.
Do you need me to come put your kids to sleep as well

It's an L-shaped passage from what I could see. I think if you remove the plug on the side you'll be able to look into it and see where your temp probe is. Let me know what you find, I guess it's not too big of a deal to swap the probe either.
If you route the stainless braided hose under the car be careful about letting it touch things like brake or fuel lines. That stainless weave is like a file - it will cut through anything it touches. I wrapped fuel lines in silicon hose to protect in any place where there was a chance for contact.
