Not that I recommend this, but we have spun 272's upto 9000rpm with no problems. Hell, I have HKS 280's on my evo right now and I am spinning it up to 8700rpm, how long will the springs tolerate that? Time will only tell, but so far I haven't had any problems.
272's are really not that aggressive, they are really a mild cam to be honest with you. Remember the stock cams are 256's. So going to 272's is really not that huge of a jump, but keep in mind there are several different types of "272's" HKS/BC/Comp/BF/ ect. And every single one of those cams have different lifts/duration/ect. BF 272 being the more aggressive 272 cam out there. You can't go off of the number "272" per say as every "272" variant cam is going to have different specs.
The HKS 272's you can spin upto 8500rpm with no problems, I wouldn't be too worried with the HKS 272's. Now the BF 272's, it would be wise to put some valve springs/retainers in there for added insurance.
