I just bought an 03 evo VIII and didnt have a boost gauge, It runs super slow? I thought maybe a boost leak or something? So I bought and installed a boost gauge and the PSI is stuck at 10-11psi?? So I took it to my buddy to look at it cuz he had an eclipse GST, he said he might know the problem so he did this thing where he melted a T-fitting and turned up the boost to 20psi but the car still pulled the same as it always has(slow). Im confused? my vac. reads 20 so thats good and im getting all the boost I need, but the car isnt pulling? It cant be the turbo blown because it would be spitting oil and smoking out the back right? I checked it and it fins seemed fine? Does anyone have any ideas to what it might be?? please help!

I checked for shaft play and it felt fine, I had my friend check too for a second opinion he said it felt fine too, wouldnt my boost drop if i had a boost leak? sorry im very new to turboed car this is my first, but we ran all the way to 20psi and the car felt like a turd, little to now pull at all???? as far as a tune? I have no idea if it has one, the car is mainly stock with turbo back exhaust, drop in K&N filter and a full recirculating greddy BOV, I can hear the turbo spool but no go?

do a compression test and leak down test to make sure your motor is not hurt...

As they said, boost leak, compression test.. does it cough or lose power, or just slow all the way?

yeah im definatly going to do a compression test and a leakdown test, a boost leak test is smart too, it doesnt cough tho and it doesnt feel like its losing power, it just feels really low on power, i hear the turbo spool, it hits 20psi but the turbo just never kicks in??? its really weird?
