High HP evo's what do you do with your PCV valve?

hey ya'll I was wondering what some of the higher hp evo's (600 and above) do with your pcv valve?

do ya'll even use one or do you just have AN lines running from where the PCV valve would be and the breather in the valve cover into a catch can?

please let me know,

thanks,
John

we are currently getting a map kit to help with blow by. but dsm25psi has made 762 and daily drives the stock pcv valve.

Stock PCV valve routed to Saiku Mitchi catch can back to the intake manifold. Works great. Every 2-3 oil changes there's a good 2-3 tablespoons worth of oil that the can kept fom going into my combustion chambers.

^^^^^ thats actually the exact setup I'm running right now. was just wondering if that's restrictive in any kinda way??? If not, then why do all kinds of people get huge lines for it???

drivers side valve cover port.....hose ran down to the ground.

PCV still hooked up to the intake manifold. But thinking about going to a BR catch can setup.

The way it's designed, no. I'm sure you could however.

so does he just thread a brass fitting or something into where the PCV valve was? then go to the catch can, then to the oilpan?

he doesnt change the diameter or anything to something bigger than what the stock PCV valve is though does he?

Correct, he supplies a barb fitting that threads on and replaces the PCV.

I believe they offer larger diameter fittings that press into both ports on the valve cover.

Incorrect. Buschurs can supplies the press-on fitting you need for the back of the valve cover. The drivers port is left alone and reused.

So basically, here is the setup I'm currently using.

Stock PCV valve to Saiku Mitchi catch can then straight to the ground

Breather hose to Saiku Mitchi catch can then straight to the ground.

is that restrictive in anyway? I just don't get why people run huge AN lines if this isnt restrictive? I plan on making hopefually around 600+ HP on buschur's mustang dyno.

Please let me know what ya'll think, Buschur racing is 500 miles from here, so I want to be well prepared when I go get it tuned

thanks,
John

I have a Buschur can I've not yet installed. I'm still debating whether to drill the valve cover. I believe the piston to wall clearances on my motor are pretty loose, and I do lose a good amount of oil. For the past 2.5 years on this motor I add probably a quart every month. I'm thinking if I vent the crankcase better I might get slightly better oil consumption. So I am leaning towards drilling and tap'ing the valve cover and going to the Buschur can.

Oh.. I'm currently on a drilled out stock PCV valve going to can, and then the side port I go to a oil breather filter.
