EVO VIII Blow Through MAF

EVO VIII Blow Through MAF
Anyone know if anyone else makes a Blow-Through MAF for the EVO VIII aside from Dejon Tool?? The one they make still routes like the factory one with a whole bunch of unnecessary bends and curves and I was looking for one that runs underneath the intake straight to the intake manifold...thanks!!

I really hate to see EVOs going down this path after knowing so many people with DSMs that have had nothing but headaches with the GM MAFT. Either stick to the stock MAF or go speed density.

I admit the GM MAFT isn't the best choice, I use a ford Cobra sensor from (formerly) Pro-Flow, supposedly back in business as PMAS, its a standard buschur upper intercooler pipe with a saddle mount for the sensor.
The electronics are hard to come by these days, however I have run this setup since late 2004

Don't blame the hardware, most issues are due to poor tuning..PERIOD..
BTW this car has made roughly 570 whp on a fairly conservative tune.

(Just some documentation to help you along)

You ask if I'm joking, then agree with me
I do blame the hardware, the GM MAF is a completely hit or miss device. I could link you to countless threads where they're affected by position, moisture, temp changes, and other things that make consistent tuning almost impossible. Sure, people have gone fast on them. People have also gone fast on VPCs, but we've moved on to better options today.
I have always had great success on DSMs with 2G and EVO MAFs, very simple to dial in and get stock like driveability. Beyond that, it's just so much simpler to run speed density. Look at anyone running AEM, you'd be hard pressed to find someone using it with a MAF.
I think the biggest thing holding people back from running SD is the ability to do it easily on the stock ECU. That's about to change on the DSM side with DSMlink V3 releasing SD support soon. There have been open source efforts like DS-MAP but it's not user friendly enough for the mainstream to get behind it. On the EVO side, it seems that the ability to patch the ECU for SD exists, I wouldn't doubt that it'll gain momentum soon.

I am very much anti-speed density, and not a fan of standalones on street cars.. Thats where my first comment came from. Other than that, I've used the MAFT and my setup, and have had good results with the MAFT and GM sensor, but much better results with the Ford MAF and associated electronics.
But heck, what do I know..

Absolutely nothing wrong with running the PMAS stuff, I run the meter on my evo and on my dsm.
all you would need is a saddle and the maf, unlike the GM stuff where you have to cut your pipes and use couplers.
just because it doesn't work for everyone, doesnt make it bad,
Malibujack and myself, are probably the only people who use the PMAS stuff.
and the dsm (stock ecu)
