Modding advice...Need some help.

I am posting up some Gtech readings I did at the track over the last week.

What I want to look at is the hp map. On 10psi the car runs a 14.1 with 162hp peak but over in the 6300rpm range. On 20-21psi the car runs a 213peak hp at 5800 rpm however if you look at the hp graphs they are completely different looking.

I just need some help on what to do modding wise.

The car is on a stock ecu and has 510cc injectors and an Evo 3 BIG 16G turbo.

On 10psi the car hold the boost strong all the way . On 20-21 the car bleeds back quickly to 17-18psi or so. I can't really tell in the dark.

Please help with some sound advice. My goal is to run high 12.0s. This is my daily driver. The 20-21psi run says I had a 105mph pass which would be my highest by 3mph. The timing light at the track was not working tonight but I wanted to match it to the Gtech to see how accurate it was or is. The times in my sig are all on the track light.

Oh I forgot to add that I just installed an EGT and the car is holding strong at 1500F. The probe is in the Exhaust manifold front and center. from 14psi right up to the 21psi bleed back the car still is registering 1500F.

Let me ask it another way....

What might clear up this for me the best?

1. Is my wastegate too weak to hold the boost so I need to replace it with an adjustible one?

2. Would I just need a tune to fix what appears to be huge gaps in power? The problem is the gaps come with the bleed back as well so I can't tell what is affecting the car the most. Is it an MBC or Wastegate problem why that occurs?

3. Just go EMS all the way but then I need a good tuner.

4. Other options?

The Gtech hp/tq graphs do not look remotely accurate - I wouldnt sweat them. However, I used to have a regular Gtech and the 1/4mile numbers were dead on. As far as your boost holding it's probably just the turbo running out of steam up top, but a boost leak test is probably in order anyhow. If you dont have a free flowing TBE that would be my first suggestion.

First off thanks for the reply.

Full 3 inch TBE...Forge BOV and pod filter intake.

The Evo 3 BIG 16G is not supposed to run out of breath until around 22psi. The engine has in forged pistons and rods so it should be able to handle much more boost strength wise.

Bumping this old thread.

I am still working with the Gtech. I know you don't think that the hp graphs make much sense but others are using the same gtech and getting much smoother graphs.

Right now the car is making peak power at 6100rpm and then it dives to 7000 rpm. I did notice that the TBE is 3 inch to the cat and then has a 2.5 flange on the 3 inch cat back followed by a 2.5 muffler on the end.

Could that set up be causing back pressure and causing that hp drop off I am experiencing?

????

The car is falling on its face from 6100 to 7000 rpm.

Bump,

Can anyone tell me if my exhaust going up and down in size would create a great loss in power as I up the boost? Or is this something in the ECU?
