Quick question sort of on topic.
When unbolting and removing the transfer case only, does the transmission oil need to be drained?
I've changed the clutch twice before but need to attack the tc this time to replace that o-ring gasket because it leaks. I'm trying to avoid draining the transmission fluid but cant remember if its doable without draining the transmission oil.

Back on topic, Irwin (TiboEvo) and I pulled the engine, transmission and transfer case out of his 03 Evo as an assembly. It can be done with an engine hoist in the garage with the car on jackstands. You do not need to drop the subframe, nor do you need to take the t-case off.
