Evo 7 Piston Burnt

I'm looking at buying a JDM E7, but the seller recently burnt a piston(#1). He said they pulled the head(obviously!) and changed the piston, rings. Thay also serviced the injectors, changed the oil and oil filter. I took a ride in the car and there is no apparent power loss, performance problem. Is this still a good buy? Or are there deeper problems here? Thanks
