Hello
I have on my car 30k and I want to know when I should replace my timming belt along with the other belts?
Also What is this thing called balance shaft eliminator kit?
thanks

just go by what the manual says, usually around 30k you'd replace like the serpentine belt, engine oil and a couple of other things but generally just make sure the belts aren't cracked and the fluids are clean and you should be fine

There's actually two cogged belts you replace at 60,000 miles. One drives the cams, the oil pump and one balance shaft. The second cogged belt drives the other balance shaft. These two belts run on three idler pulleys that are often replaced too. The usual recommendation is to also replace the hydraulic tensioner - the device that maintains tension on the cam belt.
Since you have to pull all of the stuff mentioned above to replace the water pump many people will use this opportunity to replace that too.
Some people, especially if rebuilding an engine, will decide to go without the balance shafts. This will cause more engine vibration to be transmitted to the cabin but an engine without balance shafts has less things that can go wrong. Hence the kit.
