Scared to mod!
I am new so please help me understand something. Does Mistubishi not know better what psi and a/f ratio are perfect for the car? Why do we have to install a MBC to trick the car to go faster? Would we lose something else by gainning some hp? Can we just reflash the computer to get the car faster? Is it very messy to install a MBC, like drilling holes, cutting wires, removing parts? Seems like a lot of people are having troble with BOV, thats scaring me too. Can a new ECU alone improve hp?

Yes, Mits know. Their intention is to sell car not make the car go fast.
To keep constant boost to your car. Like US Spec Evo8, we are seeing boost as high as 19psi. The boost seems to drop to as low as 16psi when the car when you reach higher RPM. MBC/EBC will help you maintain the boost constantly.
Comfort will suffers. More performance = less comfort.
yes. Reflash will help to gain HP. More HP = faster acceleration. But not gaining top speed.
No mess, there is no need to drill hole or cut wire. You will need to reroute some vacuum hose and find a good spot to mount the MBC. You can zipped the MBC to a secure area.
New ECU = reflashed stock ECU. Not much difference. You will gain HP since the air/fuel/timing map is tweaked.
