Annoying whining noise....
When ever I'm cruising in the Evo, no matter what RPM's, if I'm not on the throttle at all, you do not hear anything, but if I am partially on it, like very slightly on it, I hear a whining noise, and the more that I press on the throttle, the louder the car it self gets (which is normal) but there is less whining noise. I'm guessing either a wheel bearing, or throw out bearing? Maybe another kind of bearing? I doubt its the transfer case because I had it rebuilt last year and the noise was present before it (unfortunately its louder now than it was before).
Anybody's educated input will gladly be appreciated.

im assuming you know what sound your turbo makes? wouldnt be the tob unless your on the clutch, and doesnt seem like it would be a wheel bearing either because that would most likely get louder with speed. my tcase makes a similar sound... could yours be goin out?

Damn, that sucks, but honestly, I rather the tranny go out than the transfer case considering Shep said that my ring and pinion was also out in there costing me over $2G'z to fix / rebuild it... Time for the 5 speed swap.

Tires? My tires are noisy on the Subie at certain speeds, and get quieter as I go faster.
Exhaust leak? Other type of leak? Normal turbo noise? Hmm... Could be anything. If your TC was built and you have done regular fluid changes on it, I highly doubt it is that.

Its not the tires bc I've changed th wheels and tires 2 weeks ago and its not an exhaust leak nor. It sounds like something in the drive train...

Ok, I am going to flush everything out, one at a time though.
What fluids do you all recommend for the transfer case, (6 speed) tranny, rear diff?
I'm probably going to use all Red Line or Diaqueen oil. I rather use the Red Line due to the fact that its thicker and its getting warmer out but do not know each individual viscosity / weight. Can someone please chime in?
-Thanks
