ams balance shaft delete install??

im in the process of installing the ams delete kit and just wondering if get the old bearings out is hard and what to do/use to get them out?? then once all is out what to use to install the new one that came with the kit or does a machine shop have to remove then and press the new ones in???

I did the front bearing today myself, but I don't know how I'm going to get the rear one on the oil pump side out and put a new one in. I might just leave it.

I would say CAREFULLY use a flat tip screwdriver to slowly tap it out making sure not to score the journal but I'm sure there is a better/safer way. But to put it in I would use a rubber mallet and tap it around the edges until it seats.

That's the ghetto dsm way that I used with my 6 bolt lol.

I left the oil pump side stock. Didn't want to risk it. The access is difficult.

well the reason for doing this install is my factory balance shaft seized up so im pretty sure im gunna have to put all the new bearing in. so should i try it myself or take it into the machine shop so i dont mess anything up?

i used a socket the diameter of the bearing but small enuf to fit through the journal

That sounds a lot safer than the screwdriver method. Do you remember what size socket by any chance?

Have the machine shop do it. If you got the Ams kit just have them install the only one that anything rides in. The other 2 don't matter because they are just blocking the oil galley.

And to the guy that left the one balance shaft stock; That is a horrible idea, you have created one very unbalanced engine

he just left the bearing stock...

My block just came back from the machine shop and i've got to figure out how to install the oil pump side bearing... it's going to suck. Any ideas?
