The last post by the OP sounded like he might be looking into building the motor eventually, which was the reason I mentioned DB's Project White. My bad?

The failure of cams is only pertinent to 06's (IX). They're failing due to the mivec groove being too shallow, which you don't have, so you have no need to worry.
