What PSI Is Safe On 110 Leaded Untuned? Evo IX

I'm in need of a tune for tonight but my tuner is busy....

I'm a stock turbo Evo IX I run catless 3in tbe, and bolt-ons.....

I'm currently tuned for 23psi on 93pump....

My tuner and I were aiming for 30psi on 110 leaded later on this week but I need more power for tonight....

So my question is what boost level can I pull off in my IX with 110oct without a tune?

I know I wont get the full potential out of the 110oct with out a tune but its just for tonight....

I was thinking 27psi what do you guys think?

27 sounds safe, but make sure you have ARP head studs...

you will be ok....im tuned on 93 octane also, and i needed to get that lil extra power out my my car for one night hehe.

i filled up with VP 109, and turned the boost up to 27-28 psi......and took the muffler off an ran a straight pipe for less back pressure.

oh yea im on stock headstuds to and i was fine.....but 27-28psi is deffinetly pushing it on stock headstuds.....keep that in mind.

IMO I would not run anything more than 26-27lbs without a tune and this is why. When running higher octane fuel its less prone to detonation. This allows you to crank up the boost as long as the car is properly tuned for it. If it is not then you may still experience some detonation as the timing and fuel maps may not be up to par for that kind of boost. I have seen many people on this forum claim to be running 30+lbs of boost on the stock headbolts with no issues. This leads me to believe its all in the tune. But and then again, I blew my headgasket running 23lbs on stock headstuds but I think my tune went to **** so I think that was my problem. Either way good luck with what you choose and hopefully you wont respond tomorrow saying you blew your headgasket.

If your drag racing, stock head studs are ok with 30-32psi. How many cars have you seen or heard of blow the head with stock studs with a good tune? I've heard of more blown engines with aftermarket studs. Don't take my advice though, I just read what I can. Also, I hit 35psi on accident for about 2 seconds and everything internal is stock and my car is still fine.

Boost wise you are safe, however the car will probably run slower... I am saying that from experience...

When I first got my car on cams and full weight I was trapping 114 no problem with 3500 race weight at around 23psi... The second time I ran I wanted to use racegas. Ran sunoco 112 leaded if I remember correctly and the car couldn't pass 113 mph even when cranking the boost all the way to 27psi... Emptied the tank filled up again and then I was back to my 114 traps...

Tune the car... Definitely leaner more maybe closer to 12:1 and you will be able to run more timing...
