Best intake pipe for stock ecu ?

I hope this topic has not been beat to death, but I'm looking to get a perrin filter and intake piping and cannot decide which one works best with the stock MAS. I've look at Buschur, JM fabrications, ETS, and the Perrin (which is not a hard pipe). Which one would give me the least problems and will it increase HP at all? I've heard people are having trouble with ETS's, Buschur does not recommend his (even though he used it on project white with the stock ecu), and I do not know what to think of the silicone pipe Perrin offers.

The ETS is rough. I still can't get my car running right with it. I made the switch to FP's 3" silicone for the Red.

Thanks for the advice and I'm happy Injen is working out for you, but I have heard numerous inquires that the injen pipes are sub par quality from most users.

stock ecu, use the stock pipe and just put an open filter on it. you will gain a little hp but not much. whatever intake you decide on you will be fine once you get tuned with that particular intake on it. but unless you go out and get tuned, put an open filter on your stock pipe. thats what im using on mine and im pushing 383awhp. keep in mind that u dont have to upgrade every single part of an evo to gain performance. i hope this helped you out somewhat.

I went with the perrin complete intake and its working great. I have had the ETS intake and it was horrible. always hunting for an idle, half throttle hesitation. stay away from the ETS. Also had the HKS RS intake which seemed to perform well. only draw back on it was having to replace the filter every 5k miles.

John, I'm still on the stock tube with just the Perrin air filter and it's good for 12 flats or better. I might try the Perrrin tube later, but for now the stocker works fine.

I also use the HKS RS intake pipe, but with an Apexi Filter and I have no problems with it.

I run the new ETS LP2 intake on my 9 and it runs just fine, no issues at all.

Umm, the lp2 is not an intake it's a licp. I have ETS' intake and it blows on the stock ecu period.

We have a new version of our intake, I need to get some pictures out. I will try to get that done shortly. It works really well now.

Thanks,

Michael
