guys i really need help

Here's my story:

i was driving home tonight up a really twisty and steep hill.. was going around an S-curve that my evo always has a hard time getting around without spinning the inside tires.

well i took the turn and as i was exiting the final curve, i broke traction (didnt mean too) and there was a pop and then a really loud, high-pitched whine started. I thought to myself, "Oh **** there goes my transfer case" but i noticed as i put putted home that the whine was not variable with speed but with RPM and when i turned my car off the whining sounded like a jet engine shutting off, how it winds down, so i'm guessing its the turbo??... then i checked my oil and it was low and my car smells like its burning oil, so im leaning towards bearing failure??

Well i just blew a ton of cash and need help finding a cheap turbo, it would be nice to upgrade to a 3076 or something but i just dont have the money.. i was thinking that these were my options:

Stage 1 Evo 9 20G upgrade w/ 10.5CM^2 housing: $1088.95

Stage 2 Evo 9 20G TME upgrade w/ 10.5CM^2 housing: $1349.95

TC Evo 8 6.5 TME w/ 20G alumide wheel and 10.5^2 housing: $1095.00

FP Green (really pushing my spending limit): $1895.00

All of these turbo's are rated at 450hp (right now at 320 on 8 turbo w/ 10.5 hotside)

I just ordered a new 02 housing and manifold, not looking for huge numbers, just want to know what the differences in these turbo's are because they all look roughly the same..

Turbo Guru's Unite, lol

The BBK has proven to be awesome. Also, the FP Red. Or just a stock 9 turbo could get you there.

do you know what this turbo is rated at?

the reason i am looking at upgrading instead of replacing my 8 with a 9 turbo is that i have a goal to hit 380/400whp with my current mods, which i think is very possible with a 20G

any other suggestions?

I'll try to describe the sound.. Its a high-pitched whine, variable with engine rpm's, and is noticable from start-up and winds down slowly after shut off.

sounds like the turbo right? i'm pushing almost 69,000 miles on a stock 8 turbo that i have beat to death...

could it be a serious vacuum or exhaust crack? I'm still assuming its the turbo due to the low oil level right after this happened and the burning smell

Well, if you figure out what you need I have a cheap ported 9 turbo setup for sale as well as a non-ACD transfercase. I can ship both/either no problem.
