Question about discoloration on Pressure Plate

Should I worry about the purple/blueish discoloration on the face of this used Exedy twin disk pressure plate? Do I need to replace this pressure plate? Thanks in advance.

That's heat at work for ya. ^ what meckert said. If you have no other choice, you can re-use it, but you want to see if anyone can re-face it bcuz with irregular purple/blue, you also have warpage going on. Someone check my math on this.

Basically correct, you would have to measure the plate to see if it has any type of deformation out of some spec. That type of heat is pretty serious.

It could just be easier to replace

Put a straight edge on what used to be the flat side of the plate. I think you will find it is really warped (concave).
