I am considering doing this myself on my Evo 7 from a wrecked Evo 9. Any advice or difficulties encountered?

This has got me curious as i considered this a while ago- What's the pulg changes on the harness?
So you change the two relays as needed and plug in the ecu any other functions of thecar electrical system you had to change?

Thanks guys i did not buy plugs i use thehole 9 harness and my 8 drive train and just deleted all the acd wires, and you do need the two relays, you can use your 8 harness it will get the car running but no mivec, so i would say that not to safe...

I just posted askin about how to do an evo 9 swap into my evo 8. The problem is finding an evo 8 used or new turn key motor. They just dont seem to be very common. I was refered to this post. Im goin for it!

What are the "acd wires" you are speaking of???

I'm not sure what you mean by turn key motor, but you can disable the immobilizer in the ECU to get around the different key issue.

ACD wires, meaning the evo 9 wiring harness has extra plugs for the ACD system, which will probably be unused on your evo 8. Don't HAVE to remove them, but if not they will just hang there.

When I say "turn key motor" I mean as in a complete motor out of a salvage or like the brand new Evo IX motors advertised on lancershop.com. They come completely assembled including both manifolds, and turbo. I have yet to find a complete Evo VIII motor new or or out of a salvage. Sorry for the confusion.
